The New York City Apollo Alliance calls on New York City to lead by example by retrofitting the 100 least energy efficient city-owned buildings.  Retrofitting existing facilities evaluates energy usage and makes recommendations to enhance energy efficiency, assesses the potential of onsite renewable energy production, and maximizes water savings.  Retrofitting not only protects and improves the city’s assets but it creates job opportunities, demonstrates environmental stewardship, and improves public health.  Additionally, retrofitting the city’s buildings would reduce the over-tk a year the City currently spends on energy and water use.
